2021 Virtual CSDI Workshop
The 2021 CSDI Workshop will be a virtual event, with a mixture of pre-recorded presentations and live panel discussions.
The format will be as follows:
- From 22 March 22 to 8 April, attendees will be able to view recorded presentations and submit questions to the author(s) via a discussion forum.
- On 9 April, there will be three live panel discussions on overarching 3MC topics (see list below) at various times throughout the day to accommodate different time zones.
- After each live panel, there will be a virtual social event where you can connect with other attendees.
- The 2021 Workshop is free!
Translation 4.0 - 2021 CDSI Workshop:
This presentation is a part of the session about Survey translation in the digital age.This presentation aimed at all academics and practitioners from the fields of Sociology, Linguistics and Translation Studies, who are interested in international comparable surveys, survey research and methods, translation of questionnaires, and machine translation.
The speaker:
Veronika Keck is a research associate and a communications manager at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Science in the department Survey Design and Methodology. She is working in the ESS and SSHOC projects on translation process for international surveys. She holds a BA (2014) and MA (2018) in Translation studies and Conference Interpreting (German, Russian, English) from the University of Mainz.

The International Workshop on Comparative Survey Design and Implementation (CSDI) was founded in 2002 in Brussels at a meeting of researchers active in cross-national or cross-cultural survey research. The main goal of CSDI is improving comparative survey design,implementation, harmonization, dissemination analysis. The workshop provides a forum and platform for researchers involved in research relevant for comparative survey methods.
